The future BMW i8 plug-in-hybrid is believed to be a revolutionary car. However, these cars are slowly-riding and supposed to bring no fun to driver. Moreover it's likely the new car won't have the performance M-version, because there are no internal-combustion-version to be offered.
However, according to new reports the revolutionary i8 will have a more powerful gas engine with 223 hp and 295 lb*ft tq through the rear wheels and the front-drive electric motor will give for about 170 hp giving the i8 393 hp and 406 lb-ft , due to it the car will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100km/h) just i 4.9 seconds. Not bad for a hybrid, huh?
And here is the bad news - because of its performance abilities and carbon fiber body in combination with aluminum chassis the price will be $132,600 for the basic version when the car hits the market in 2014.
