Time for another dose of automotive history with this silky matte black Range Rover. Released in the late 60’s, the Range Rover marque has been as complimentary to off-road luxury as peanut butter is to jelly, and how black is to white.

Not many designs immediately land in a museum, let alone the famed Louvre in Paris, France. Called an “exemplary work of industrial design” the Range Rover was not initially designed as a luxury type vehicle, but as a utilitarian motor to be used for long bouts in the countryside. In fact, the design was so industrial that the vinyl and plastic materials used were primarily there to be hosed down in the event of you and your dogs carrying in some mud on your boots from the trail.

Times have changed, and although still entirely capable of carrying Fido and a few pounds of soaking wet ground, the new Range Rovers leaving the assembly line have just as much luxury as they do utility use. Nowadays, instead of vinyl you’ll find the finest leather, and instead of plastics beautiful wood veneers line the door and dash panels of quite possibly the most luxurious 4X4 to roam this earth.

To complete the fourth generation Range Rover’s look that’s pictured here in stunning metallic black matte with gloss top, the custom car masterminds of MC Customs of Miami dressed this color changing Rover with our F2.19 wheels with red on black custom floating “Land Rover” caps to match the bright red, and massive brake calipers certainly capable of stopping this long wheelbase model on the highway, or on a trail. Massive brakes are not always conducive to wheel choice, but in this case the 24” diameter of the F2.19 conquers the calipers with ease.
