When Ford officials said that the future of Ford Mustang will be revealed during the Detroit Auto Show, there is nothing to think about but the unveiling of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT500. The new Ford Mustang GT 500 definitely will make a presence in the event knowing that it is the most powerful Mustang to come into production as of today.

The road bully will have a power plant similar to the 2008 GT500KR limited edition which sports a supercharged V8 5.4L engine that can leave any soul behind with its output of 540 horsepower at 6200 rpm and a torque of 510 lb-ft at 4500 rpm.

The beast beneath the hood is paired with a six speed manual transmission that utilizes organic material clutch that provides smoother shifting. The new Ford Mustang GT500 besides its engine has the looks to boot. Its exterior highlights a wide open mouth devoted for its grille. The makeover consists of new sheets of metal making it look meaner on the road and it also utilizes big air extractors to keep the car cool.

The Shelby cobra emblem was moved to the right to give way to an air snorkel to lower the temperature of the intake of the V8 engine. The new mustang is equipped with springs that are 13% stiffer in front and 7% at the rear. These are held in place with four Brembo calipers.

The electronic stability system was also upgraded to aid the driver gain more control of the vehicle. The car is electronically maxed to hit the 155 mph but the driver can switch the control system on-off or go for a sport mode. No 0-60 mph test results were released but are expected to be around 4.3 seconds like the older brother KR.

The Ford Mustang GT 500 is a car that evolved from the KR and according to designers becomes the ultimate Ford Mustang.
