I’ll tell you what customer service is: it’s when one of your buyers says “Hey, make me that car!” and then you say “Heck yeah, sure!” That’s what Audi did for one unnamed (and no doubt deep-pocketed) European buyer who requested an Audi A8 extended limousine. It’s surprisingly quick, too!

Yes, this big A8—a jarring sight to behold at first, but a surprisingly elegant one upon closer inspection—is a one-off for a single buyer. But the 19.7-foot long, 5,331 pound, six seat, six door luxobarge doesn’t look like any cheap hack job.

Here’s how Audi says they did it:

The Audi A8 L extended benefits from the low weight of the production model’s body, which uses an Audi Space Frame design and is made almost entirely from aluminum. For the built-to-order version the engineers extended the side sills and center tunnel using extruded aluminum sections.

Inside the tunnel, these also assist with the air routing. A double rear bulkhead separates the passenger compartment from the luggage compartment; the roof incorporates additional aluminum profiled tubes and cross-braces. These measures provide torsional and flexural rigidity almost on a par with the A8 L.

Still, you’d think with that extra heft Audi would have gone with a V8 for this A8. But no! It has the 3.0-liter supercharged TFSI V6 with 310 horsepower. And Audi says it propels this big limo from zero to 62 mph in just 7.1 seconds.

That is... surprisingly decent! Certainly not fast, but not a tank either.

Any ideas who the lucky owner of this thing might be?
