In the era of sea-creature-like styling it’s nice to see a car with smooth curves and fresh look. With permission from Martini owner Bacardi & Company of Switzerland, Porsche has grafted the iconic livery onto its high-performance 918 Spyder Prototype.
Bacardi & Company of Switzerland is an old sponsor of auto racing. It began in 1968 sponsoring a Formula Two race at the Hockenheimring, and right in the very beginning (1969) started cooperating with Porsche. Quite fruitful cooperation for Martini, I should say, cars wearing Martini livery won the Targa Florio in '73, the Sports Car World Championship in '76, and Le Mans in '76 and '77.
