How much you paid to get your Ducati motorcycle? For Audi this price will go up to $1.1 billion or even more – this price the worldwide automobile manufacturer is ready to pay now to buy Ducati from its current owner, Investindustrial. However neither Audi nor Investindustrial have officially commented on whether that price is accurate. The price is around seven times what Ducati earned last year before interest, taxes and depreciation. Currently, the motorcycle maker's liabilities are less than $262.6 million.
The only way I can explain this purchase is Audi’s envy to BMW, itself a long motorcycle builder. Longtime industry watchers may remember that VW Chairman Ferdinand Piech tried to purchase Ducati once before in 2008 before loosing out to Investedindustrial.
