Nissan finally showed its new Australian V8 Supercar Altima on track. The great piece of news is that the new supercar inherits VK56DE 5.6-liter V8 engine from its big brother – Nissan Patrol. As it was told – Nissan poured about $1.5 million into the new V8 Supercars program to become an equal competitor for Ford and Holden.

The V8 Altima was developed in a close cooperation with Kelly Racing Team and the right of the first run was given to team owner and driver Todd Kelly, who recently recovered from shoulder reconstruction surgery. After the run Kelly said the car feels good, but there’s still much work to do – however Nissan and Kelly Racing have enough time for next March when the car will see its official race debut.
