Quattro Concept, first seen at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, is what many of us were waiting for. Some of you might have fall in love with it already, but according to UK magazine Car, Audi will not produce a road-going version of the terrific Quattro Concept.
The main reason for canceling Quattro Concept is repletion of the performance coupe market. Audi believes there is no room even for the concept that the car guy world seemed to excited to see.
However, the moniker of the Quattro Concept may be used for another project of Audi - a compact crossover. It would not be as tall as a normal CUV, rather Car predicts that it could take the form of a 2-door crossover, à la the Range Rover Evoque Coupe. Possibly to be named "Q-Coupe," potential motivation could be a five-cylinder turbo, sending power through an S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox to the eponymous Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
Audi already has great experience in building CUV concepts; take for example the RS Q3 or Crosslane Coupe. But I’m curious to see the replacement of the gone Quattro Concept.
