I’m happy to bring you fresh news right from the field of 2012 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb which has entered a new level thanks to a new paved course directly to the skies. Completely paved road without dirt or gravel drew attention of new members. Interest in this year was so great that organizers are contemplating expanding the event to two days for 2013.

Most of new faces are the Electric vehicles. Two Mitsubishi iMiEVs, a prototype from Toyota Motorsport, a BMW E36 M3 from EV West. But the main guest here was Nobuhiro Tajima with his all-new Monster Sport E-Runner.
The Japanese driver set times of 4:14.8 and 4:13.3 which is great if compare to the previous year when Tajima set times of 4:45.9 and 4:33.8 with his Suzuki SX4 Hill Climb Special.

The first day brought so many emotions, but there were also negative moments. For example, Hiroshi Masuoka, driving the Mitsubishi i-MiEV Evolution crashed overshooting a corner in the second practice session.
Enjoy the photos and read the report from the second day of PPIHC.
