And here I have another great piece of news for bikers who are not indifferent to environment. While electric cars are boring piece of grocery-getters, electric bikes can show nice results in performance thus attract more and more fans.

With bigger number of potential buyers we get more sellers. For example, 5 college students from Norway have revealed a carbon-fiber electric bike. This 67 pound and 94 horsepower motorcycle definitely looks like a fun-generator.

The bike has got a name – Roskva. And as many things in the automotive industry this idea evolved from drawings to CAD models and, I hope, the process of birth will go further. Thanks to carbon fiber which is supposed to be the main component in the build the weight of the bike is pegged between 50 and 70 pounds. (31 kilograms)

But here the developers face the problem – pricing for the bike made of carbon fiber won’t be low. But to reduce the final cost the Roskva’s designers utilize lithion-iron phosphate batteries. They are not expensive, but have less energy density. The range of one charge will be limited with 60 miles, but you may recharge the bike in 10 minutes. And speaking about the top speed – the bike will be able to reach maximum speed in 113 mph.

When the bike will be available to purchase – nobody knows. But what can I say is that it won’t be cheap because of the electric technology and carbon fiber chassis. However, this build has something special to offer, so it’s possible it will find its fans.
