What is really tough thing in automotive sport you will ask me, and I answer: it’s enduro off-road racing. This brutal kind of sport leaves you alone eye-to-eye with a cold open desert, the only way you can leave the desert alive is your bike. Sam Longson tasted the real feel of enduro off-road race and showed us how brutal it can be – his bike got in an accident and Sam had to ride the final 14 miles of the race with three broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
The clean win was so close – Sam had rode 520 miles of 534-mile event without a problem, but 14 miles before the finish line a wheel of Sam’s Yamaha hit a loose gravel over the trail.

Sam Longson was far from any help, so the only way out for him to be alive was Yamaha and 14 miles of unfriendly desert. Despite all that, he finished the race in 38th place overall and third in his class.
Here I have a first-person video for you. The bike crashes at 4:30 and through the rest of the video, you hear him groaning in pain as he rides over the rough terrain.
