My car was originally a California car and there's not a speck of rust on it. I have owned her for about almost two years now and have loved every second, even when she didn't run. I bought it from a guy in Ohama Nebraska and he brought it from California just a few years ago. It was originally an L24 with domed SUs and a 3 speed automatic and AC. I'll start with what I've done since I bought it. I have put in 2in lowering springs and struts, new suspension bushings and brakes. I bought it with a warped head so I bought an L26 with a four speed manual the same head to just put the other head on it.
I bought the engine for $100 and the guy said it ran when pulled out, so I said fuck it, put it in with the original SUs on it and it fired right up. I have put a header and exhaust on it so it sounds like a rumbling V8 at idle and a Ferrari V12 on the highway. I still have the original engine and was planning on rebuilding it and putting it back in this winter but I just bought a 280ZX Turbo with a 50,000 mile L28et in it. I'm going to put that in it now, still keeping the original L24 and nonoriginal L26 in my garage. I'm going to put a larger turbo on the L28et, specifically the Holset HX35. Ive got a set of triple Webers that I want to integrate into the turbo system but I may just go FI for ease.
I also picked up a 5 speed manual which I'm going to put in when I swap the engines again. The paint is in fair condition as it sits but I'm going to reshoot it in a darker, almost candy apple red. I am also planning on some bigger brakes to handle the 300hp. Lastly, I'm planning on some 16inx7 Panasport wheels with some decent tires. I still want it to look very similar to it does as it is but with some more personal modifications.
